There are many special occasions that come up and most of them call for useful gifts. The most difficult part of these occasions is that we have to choose gifts that will be helpful and also meaningful. I had the same problem last month when it was my sister’s birthday. I was so confused on what to give her and there were only three days to her birthday. A few days back my friend came and complained to me about his teenage daughter who was demanding for a very expensive personal computer. He was worried because he didn’t want to spend so much money on a computer but he also didn’t want to disappoint his daughter. My son was very good with electronic devices and though he was only a teenager, he earns quite a lot of money by assembling computers. The general body of our housing society decided to invite our worshipful mayor to inaugurate the newly opened recreational club for the members of the society. As the president of the society, it was my duty to invite the mayor and while inviting him, I decided to present him some sort of gift. When I discussed this with the members, one of the members suggested presenting some eco friendly gifts like specially designed po-zu shoes or sandals. But there was some negative response from some of the members including the general secretary of the society regarding presenting a gift while inviting for an inauguration.
Then there was hectic discussion regarding this and at last we came to the conclusion that we will present the gift to the worshipful mayor in the presence of other distinguished guests while the mayor inaugurates the new recreational club building. In the meanwhile some members started asking questions about po-zu shoes and sandals and for that I told them that it was an eco friendly shoe and it will give more comfort than any other shoes. I got a personal phone call from the worshipful mayor two days after the building inauguration and during the conversation, the mayor told me that he liked eco friendly articles very much and thanked me for gifting him a pair of shoes with silver linings.

Recently while I was doing my PhD on environment at a prestigious university, our department planned to conduct an expedition for the students and the department head called and told me to consult with other students and select the destination as I was the representative of my class. While consulting with other students, I told them that my uncle recently visited a famous place Machu Picchu popularly known as the inca trail and narrated his thrilling experience in inca trail trekking and I also told them that I was really thrilled when my uncle described his experience and suggested to select this place for our expedition.
Everyone agreed with my suggestion and I informed our department head about our desire to visit inca trail and requested him to arrange the other needed things. Our head told me that he is busy with some other important matters and asked me arrange all needed things. Immediately I contacted my uncle and collected some more information which he has not narrated about this place and asked about the travel and accommodation there. He provided the same travel agency and hotel’s address, through which he had traveled and stayed and told us to enjoy our trip.
